How to Grow Cat Grass

.

Size of pot can be variable, not too small and light, or they may pull it and spill contents while nibbling.

Use small rock to block drain hole to keep soil in pot

Fill with soil to 1-2 inches from top when tamped down

Put pot in sink and soak soil with water

Sprinkle seeds over top to almost cover surface

Cover seeds with ¼ to ½ inch potting soil, organic is best

Water the surface

Put in a window and water 2-3 times daily. During Santa Annas you can retain moisture until sprouted by loosely covering with plastic and putting in a cupboard. When you see the green sprouts, remove plastic and put in warm sunny window. After about a week it’s ready to offer to your cat.

Trim or remove if becomes brown or brittle
